Also<\/span> in February<\/span>, an absolute “sewingjunkie” sewed<\/span> a<\/span> schnittchen<\/span> pattern<\/span>. So we<\/span> travel from our first<\/span> contribution to<\/span> Sewing<\/span> Around the World<\/span> in January<\/span> by Silvia<\/span><\/a> from Berlin<\/span> to<\/span> Julie<\/span> in Paris<\/span><\/a>. Anyone reading<\/span> international<\/span> sewing blogs<\/span>, sure<\/span> knows<\/span> Julie<\/span> of<\/span> Jolies<\/span> Bobines<\/span><\/a> who<\/span> always seems to<\/span> have<\/span> a sewing machine<\/span> at her side<\/span>. Julie<\/span> sews<\/span> like crazy<\/span> and<\/span> combine<\/span>s sewing patterns<\/span> with fabrics<\/span> in a great and very special manner<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Julie<\/span> has chosen<\/span>\u00a0 Sewing Pattern<\/span> Cardigan<\/span> Lola<\/span><\/a> for her contribution to<\/span> Sewing<\/span> Around the World<\/span><\/a>. The fabric<\/span> for<\/span> Lola<\/span> comes from<\/span> The Sweet<\/span> Mercercie<\/span><\/a>, a<\/span> French-language<\/span> online<\/span> fabric shop<\/span> from<\/span> Portugal<\/span>. Interesting<\/span> combination<\/span>, right? Yvonne<\/span>, one of the<\/span> owners<\/span> of<\/span> Sweet<\/span> Mercerie<\/span>, told <\/span>us how it<\/span> came about:<\/span> she has<\/span> previously worked in<\/span> Germany<\/span> in the textile sector<\/span> and<\/span> then worked together a lot with the fabrc industry in<\/span> Portugal<\/span>. Together with<\/span> her friend Djelani<\/span> she founded The Sweet<\/span> Mercerie<\/span> in 2014 to offer<\/span> fabrics<\/span> from local production<\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Julie<\/span> picked <\/span>a fancy<\/a><\/span> knit<\/span> fabric with<\/span> ethnic patterns<\/span> from The Sweet Mercerie<\/span>: not too thick<\/span>, not<\/span> too thin<\/span> –<\/span> perfect for<\/span> Lola<\/span> and<\/span> for the post-winter-pre-spring season<\/span>. The reddish<\/span> left<\/span> side of the fabric<\/span> makes a nice<\/span> contrast<\/span> from inside to outside<\/span>! And the best<\/span>: pattern and fabric<\/span> fit<\/span> jeans<\/span> &<\/span> t-shirt<\/span> as well<\/span> as<\/span> a white blouse<\/span> & pencil<\/span> skirt<\/span> …<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nAlso<\/span> Julie<\/span> wrote<\/span> a<\/span> text to her<\/span> Sewing<\/span> Project<\/span> and<\/span> published<\/span> it here<\/span> and<\/span> also<\/span> on her blog<\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/span>“<\/span>Here<\/span> is my<\/span> Cardigan<\/span> Lola<\/span> from<\/span> schnittchen<\/span>. I love<\/span> the patterns<\/span> of<\/span> schnittchen<\/span> and<\/span> Lola<\/span> is<\/span> one of my favorites<\/span>: an actual<\/span>, simple<\/span> and easy to<\/span> sew<\/span> pattern<\/span>, but with little details that make all the difference! I chose a jersey fabric ethnic from The Sweet Mercerie<\/a>. But I see so many combinations, so it will be\u00a0 not my only version! I play one more time with connection pattern, and for the buttons I chose to use 2 metal press stud!<\/em>
