Pattern and Sewing Instructions:

One pattern – Two skirts! Choose between a classic, waist high skirt with a narrow waistband and a center back zip. Or a skirt with a sophisticated flounce, which runs from the front separating hem all away to the back seam and gives the skirt a romantic-playful look. If you‘d like to line the skirt, we‘ve included the pattern pieces for this pattern.

Fabric recommendation
If you choose to sew the skirt without the flounce, there are no limits to the fabrics you can use. From denim, to cotton fabrics with some body, wool fabrics or Jacquards, everything is possible. For the skirt with flounce, we recommend using drapey fabrics for the flounce.

Skirt with or without ruffles – two free sewing patterns in one!

A sewing pattern for a skirt is always been needed, right? If you download our free sewing pattern “Margo Skirt” you will not get one but two! This free pattern includes two skirt variants: a very simple one with zipper in the back center and one with nice flounces attached to the hem. The first one you can sew clean – just as it comes – or pimp it yourself with ruffles or pockets. Or you use the front seam for a button placket? Or maybe you would like to sew the more playful version with flounces with some floral printed chiffon? Don’t worry, the “Margo Skirt” pattern includes also pattern pieces for a lining so you can also use transparent fabrics with no problem at all!
