#SATW Sewing Around The World – Trine / Denmark

Already October and yes we missed September, but nevertheless I am very pleased to present you with a little delay the ninth contribution to our Sewing Around The World Tour. Recently we introduced Amandas colorful Coco Jacket photographed in the Australian forest and today we travel to Trine, better known to the sewing community as groovybabyandmama, in Denmark.

I do not know if there is one garment in Trine’s wardrobe or the ones of her 4 beautiful children, which is not self-sewn because Trine sews for herself and her family without a pause! And she does it with this enviable clear Scandinavian-style: no frills at all, yet always with WOW-effect!

For her contribution to Sewing Around The World Trine chose the Jeannie Dress and we are thrilled to announce with Trine’s version a new pattern that will be released on october 16th at schnittchen.com as pdf download as well as printed pattern. The Jeannie Dress thus makes the prelude to 5 new patterns that will be released in the next few months – of which 4 will be also available as plus size patterns!

Trine has sewn the Jeannie Dress with a dark blue, light patterned sturdy knit fabric and made some alterations to the pattern: she closed the cross over seam in the front and did not use any zipper because of the elastic fabric.

Also she did not sew the considered slit in the back skirt…

Well, thank you very much, dear Trine, for this great, stylish contribution to Sewing Around The World! In Trines blog you can read what kind of alteration Trine made to this pattern and how the dress feels like. We are happy to “meet” Trine again next year, because with her “Cocoon Dress” design she was alos one of the 4 winners of Maker’s Wish!

We are really looking forward to the release of the pattern and to see many different versions. Perhaps without sleeves, made with denim jeans or as  “the little black one”? Made with colorful Jersey or in pinstripes. Glittering as a dress for the next wedding invitation or made with boiled wool and weared with thick tights in upcoming autumn … As I said, on October 16th, the time has come!
