Sunday afternoon and already 4th day of the Jacket Mimi Sewalong! Today we will finish the outer fabric jacket. We will sew the sleeves and attach them to the bodice. We will close the underarm and the side seams and sew the outer collar to the jacket.
First pin the sleeve cuffs to the bottom edge of the sleeves and sew. Press seam allowances open.
Now pin then sleeves to the the armhole (the seams are still open) right sides together. Heed the marks and sew sleeves into the armholes.
The two strokes in the arm piece have to adjust to the two strokes in the front piece.
The shoulder mark has to adjust to the shoulder seam.
The stroke in the arm piece has to adjust to the stroke in the back piece. Press seam allowances.
After attaching the sleeves you have to close the underarm and the side seams in one go. Therefore fold the sleeves, tright sides together. Close the sleeve seams and side seams in one go and press seam allowances open.
Fold the hemline about 4 cm inside and press. Here also heed the “hem” marks. Now we are going to attach the outer collar to the head opening. Therefore again
